What is Voice Design?
Voice Design is a feature for HD voices (found in the AI list) that lets you control the delivery, tone, emotion, and even accent of the voice. You can choose from preset styles or create your own using a custom prompt.
Use Voice Design to sound more natural, expressive, or suited to your content by customizing its delivery.
Voice Design is supported in the AI Voice Generator using these HD Voices:
Umbriel, Sulafat, Algenib, Despina, Puck, Aoede, Rasalgethi, Laomedeia, Iapetus, Callirrhoe, Algieba, Zephyr, Kore, Sadaltager, Gacrux, Achird, Erinome, Sadachiba, Alnilam, Achernar, Schedar, Leda, Charon, Vindemiatrix, Enceladus, Autonoe, Orus, Fenrir, Pulcherrima, Zubenelgenubi
How to Use Voice Design
Select Voices from the left menu sidebar.
Go to the My Voices tab.
Choose Designed.
Choose from your saved Designs, or add to your list by selecting Design New Voice.
Creating a Voice Design
Select Voices from the left menu sidebar.
Go to the My Voices tab.
Choose Designed.
Choose Design New Voice.
Use the drop-down menu to select a preset, such as elearning, training, science explainer, etc. Or, choose Create your own style.
(Optional) If you chose to Create your own style, write a prompt describing how you want the voice to sound. Your prompt should complete the sentence "Read this out loud in..." and it's a good idea to include keywords relating to tone and your use case. You can even make it read in certain regional accents. For example, your prompt can be "an expressive and engaging tone in a New Zealand accent for a learning module".
Select a voice for the style, optionally click on Preview Audio to hear a sample with your Voice Design applied.
When you're happy with your design, select Next: Name the Style.
Enter a name for your style and choose Create to save it.
You can return to the Design tab under My Voices to select a different Voice Design or create a new one. Like other voices, you can also pin designed voices for quick access in the Pinned tab of My Voices.
Editing or Deleting a Voice Design
To edit a Voice Design:
Select Voices from the left menu sidebar
Go to the My Voices tab
Choose Designed
Mouse over the design you wish to modify and click the Edit (pen) icon.
Change the design name or modify the prompt.
Select Save to finish
To delete a Voice Design:
Select Voices from the left menu sidebar
Go to the My Voices tab
Choose Designed
Mouse over the design you wish to remove and click the Delete (trash) icon.
If you're sure you want to remove it, select Delete to finish.
Notes
Voice Design only work with HD Voices. HD Voices are tagged as such under the AI list in the voice settings.
Prompts support freeform natural language. Describe the tone, emotion, or style you want.
Some voices may respond better to certain prompts than others.
Certain accents may not produce accurate results, or may not be supported at all.

Voice Designs are a creative tool for customizing delivery, but they must be used responsibly. Do not use Voice Designs to imitate the likeness of real individuals or to create misleading, deceptive, or harmful content. All audio generated should follow applicable laws, platform policies, and ethical guidelines.
