Quick Access
Jump to:
Your Library is where you can access and continue listening to your documents across web, mobile, or any device where you’re signed in.
Uploaded documents are kept in the Library for up to 1 year. In addition, the Library also gives you access to two specialized areas: the EDU Library (for documents shared by administrators on EDU group plans) and the Audio Library (for past mp3 conversions, stored for 30 days). We recommend saving copies of important files to your local drive or cloud storage.
When you select a document from your Library, it will open to where you last left off listening.
Using the Library
The Library is your central hub for viewing, organizing, and managing your documents. Here you can switch views, create folders, sort and search items, or refresh if you’re having sync issues. Basic navigation and toolbar functions are covered below, while detailed actions for managing documents and folders are explained in the next section.
From the Library, you can also access the EDU Library (for shared documents on EDU group plans) and the Audio Library (for past mp3 conversions).
Desktop: Access the Library anytime by clicking Library from the sidebar menu. To return to the reading page, click on < Reading.
Mobile: The app opens to the Library by default. To return to the Library at any time, tap the Home icon in the top left corner.
Library Toolbar Functions
On desktop, these options are in the top toolbar. On mobile, tap the N logo in the top right to see them:
Select - Choose documents or folders to perform batch actions
Grid - Switch between list view and grid view
Folder - Create a new folder
Sort - Sort by date, name, size, or format. Folders (if any) will always appear at the top before individual documents
Refresh - Refresh the Library. Use this if uploads are not syncing properly after switching devices
Search - Find documents or folders in your Library by name
Managing Documents and Folders
For individual documents or folders, click or tap the Options icon (vertical 3 dots) next to an item to see available options:
Delete - Remove the item from the Library
Download - Download a pdf copy of the document
Rename - Give the document or folder a new name
Move to Folder - Place the document into a folder or another folder (folders must be created beforehand—you can't create and move in the same step)
For multiple items, use batch actions to transfer (documents only) or delete items (documents or folders):
Desktop: Choose Select from the toolbar.
Mobile: Tap the N logo in the top right > tap Select
Click or tap the items you want to manage, or choose Select All
Choose your action: use the Folder icon to move selected documents, or the Trash icon to delete them. Deleting a folder also deletes all documents inside it.
Sharing Documents
You can share documents with others by generating a share link. When someone opens the link, the document will load in NaturalReader and they’ll be able to listen to it using their own voice and speed settings (subject to their own plan limits). Documents access from the EDU Library cannot be shared
To share a document:
From the Library, click or tap the Options icon (three vertical dots) next to the document
Select Share
Select Copy Link to copy the URL to your clipboard
Share the link with your recipient
Important: Share links are meant for personal use (for example, sharing with friends). They should never be posted publicly. Do not share content you don’t have permission to distribute, sensitive or private material, or course content restricted by your institution’s rules. Use responsibly.
EDU Library
If you are on an EDU group plan, your administrator can share documents with you through the EDU Library. You can view, access, and listen to these shared documents by opening them from the EDU Library.
To open the EDU Library:
Desktop: In the Library, click the More (three dots) icon in the top left > EDU Library
Mobile: In the Library, tap the N logo in the top right > EDU Library
The EDU Library works like the main document Library, but with important limitations. You cannot select items, perform batch actions, create or use folders, rename, or delete anything. You can only:
• Sort items
• Download a pdf copy
EDU plan owners and administrators can see this guide for instructions on managing the shared EDU Library.
Audio Library
In addition to your main Library for documents, there is also an Audio Library where past mp3 conversions are stored. Mp3s remain available for 30 days, so we recommend downloading and saving them to your own device or cloud storage if you want to keep them longer.
To open the Audio Library:
Desktop: In the Library, click the More (three dots) icon in the top left > Audio Library
Mobile: In the Library, tap the N logo in the top right > Audio Library
The Audio Library works the same way as the main Document Library. You can create folders, sort files, delete items, and use batch actions. The only differences are:
• Mp3s cannot be renamed
• Mp3s cannot be downloaded as pdfs
