If NaturalReader is skipping text or reading content out of order, the cause is usually related to Text Filter settings or document formatting. For example, Text Filter may skip text in parentheses by default. The sections below will help you identify the cause and resolve the issue.

If the skipped content does not involve parentheses or other Text Filter settings, and Scan to Text does not resolve the issue, please contact our support team with details about the document so we can investigate further.

Skipped Text in Parentheses or Similar Formatting

Text enclosed in parentheses or certain formatting elements may be skipped by default. This behaviour is controlled by the Text Filter settings.

  1. Open the NaturalReader desktop or mobile app.

  2. Open the menu (3 dots) from the top right.

  3. Select Text Filter from the options.

  4. Navigate to the Skip Text tab.

  5. Toggle off the settings that skip text in parentheses or other sections you want to be read.

This adjustment will prevent NaturalSoft from skipping the specified text in future readings.

If the skipped text is not related to Text Filter settings, try using Scan to Text (OCR) as described below. If the issue continues, please contact support with details about the document and the voice settings you are using.
