Change the speaker, speed, and other reader settings

  1. Launch the extension by clicking on NaturalReader's logo from your pinned extensions or by selecting NaturalReader from your extensions list

  2. Click on the Speaker icon or portrait to access Voice Settings

  3. Use the drop-down menu to select a language

  4. Scroll and click to select a voice. All voices are labelled as 'Free', 'Premium', and 'Plus'. Premium subscriptions include all the Premium voices. Plus subscriptions include the same, in addition to Plus voices.


  1. Launch the extension by clicking on NaturalReader's logo from your pinned extensions or by selecting NaturalReader from your extensions list

  2. Click on the Speaker icon or portrait to open Voice Settings

  3. Below the voice list, click the buttons or click and drag on the bar to increase or decrease the WPM. Minimum is 50 WPM and maximum is 540 WPM.

  2. Open the Settings

  3. Select Other Settings, Help & Contact

  4. Open the Settings

  5. Select Volume

  6. Click the buttons or click and drag on the bar to increase or decrease the extension's volume

Tip: You can also change the speaker or speed from the Voice & Toggle settings

Auto-scroll: Follows the current text being read aloud by scrolling the page down automatically. On by default.

Click to Read: After the extension is activated, click any readable text on the webpage to begin listening from there. On by default.

Highlight to Read: Allows you to highlight words on the webpage, then click on an icon (or right click > Read Selection) to listen to that piece of text. On by default.

Auto-detect voice by language: Detects the language used on the webpage and automatically applies a speaker in the corresponding language, if available. Off by default. (From the main Settings, select 'Other Settings, Help & Contact' to access this setting)

Quick Start: Toggle whether to show the extension quick start widget on certain webpages. This allows you to press play directly without having to launch the extension yourself.

Use the Hotkeys shortcut for Speaker ( Windows: CTR + S / Mac: ⌥S ) to toggle between 2 of your favourite voices.

  1. Launch the extension by clicking on NaturalReader's logo from your pinned extensions or by selecting NaturalReader from your extensions list

  2. Open the Settings

  3. Select Other Settings, Help & Contact

  4. Select Voice Toggling

  5. Use the drop-down menu to select 2 voices to use this setting with

Under Voices you can select a voice from the Free, Premium, or Plus voice lists or click and drag on the Speed and Volume bars to make adjustments.

Under Voice Toggling you can select 2 voices to switch between using the Hotkey Shortcut for Speaker ALT + S (Windows) or ⌥ OPTION + S (Mac).

Tip: Set up your Hotkey preferences from the Hotkeys settings
