NaturalReader's Chrome extension works from desktop browsers only, but you can still listen to you Kindle ebooks by logging into Kindle for Web.

Please note that the extension may experience instability or reduced functionality when used with Kindle for Web. Kindle for Web's ebook reader does not function in the same way as standard webpages so we must independently develop compatibility solutions to have NaturalReader working with it, which may limit some of the extension's features. Additionally, any updates to Amazon's Kindle websites could impact the extension's performance.

The following features are not available while listening from Kindle for Web:

  • Word by word highlighting

  • Click to Read

  • Highlight to Read

  • Immersive Reader (replaced with Closed Captions)

  • Back to Reading

Reading from Kindle for Web

  1. Login to your Kindle account from https://read.amazon.com/

  2. Open a book from your Kindle Library

  3. If you don't have Quick Start enabled, launch the extension by clicking on NaturalReader's logo from your pinned extensions or by selecting NaturalReader from your extensions list. Both options are next to the address bar.

  4. Press the Play button to start listening and it will start at the beginning of the page

  5. Hover the cursor over the extension widget to access the Go back or Skip ahead buttons

OR USE HOTKEYS

  1. Use the hotkey for Activate the extension. The default preset is ctrl + shift + Y (Windows) or ⌘ + shift + Y (Mac)

  2. Use the hotkey for Pause/Resume, which by default is alt + P (Windows) or ⌥ + P (Mac) to start listening from the beginning

Tip: You change the presets for Activate the extension, Pause/Read, and more from the Hotkey Settings.
