You can use the Pronunciation Editor from the Studio Editor to fix speaking issues or interpretations of acronyms. Word substitution is available to use with all voices, and some also support correcting pronunciation by entering phonetic IPA (international phonetic alphabet) symbols.

Use substitution to correct word pronunciation using the standard alphabet with phonetic spelling.

  1. Open the Pronunciation Editor by selecting PE from the left menu panel

  2. Select Create New

  3. In the field for Original Text, type or paste the word you wish to modify

  4. Check the box for Word Substitution

  5. Type phonetically how you want the word pronounced. Press the play button to listen to the results, and edit as needed

  6. Select whether to Match Case. The Match Case option applies the setting only to instances that are written the exact same way, such as if it contains capital letters.

  7. Use the drop-down menu to choose which Project you'd like the setting to apply to or select All Projects to apply to all

  8. Select Create to save

Tip: Force the speaker to read out all the initials of an acronym by inserting periods after each letter, eg: U.S.A.
