Introduction
NaturalReader AI Voice Generator offers a wide range of AI text-to-speech voices powered by industry-leading speech technologies and providers. Available languages, credit costs, and voice customization features vary depending on the selected voice model.
Monthly TTS credit allowances may vary by subscription plan, with additional credits available for purchase if needed.
How Credits Work
NaturalReader AI Voice Generator uses a credit-based system for text-to-speech (TTS) generation. Credits are consumed when generating audio, with the amount depending on the number of characters converted and the selected voice model.
What counts as a character?
Everything that passes through the text-to-speech service counts as a character, including:
Letters and numbers
Spaces, punctuation, symbols, and special characters
Text included in SSML markup (Legacy Advanced Tunes)
When are credits consumed?
Credits are consumed each time audio is generated, whether or not the audio is downloaded.
Changing your text, voices, speech, Pronunciation Editor settings (if applicable to the converted content) requires the affected text to be converted into audio again. When audio is regenerated, credits are consumed again for the characters in the affected section.
You can play or download the same generated audio multiple times without consuming additional credits, provided no changes have been made that require regeneration.
Monthly Credit Allowances
Each subscription plan includes a monthly credit allowance. The amount depends on the plan tier and number of users. Unused credits do not carry over.
You can view your monthly credit limit, credits used, and next reset date under My Account > TTS Usage.
Monthly credits reset at 5:00 PM PT (5:00 PM PDT / 4:00 PM PST) on the same date each month as your subscription started. If you subscribed on the last day of a month, your credits reset on the last day of each month.
If you need more credits, you can upgrade plans (if available) or purchase additional credits.
Single-User Plans
Starter: 500,000 credits/month
Creator: 2,000,000 credits/month
Team Plans
Team plans include 2 million shared credits/user per month, pooled across the entire team.
Examples:
Team 2 Users: 4,000,000 shared credits/month
Team 3 Users: 6,000,000 shared credits/month
Team 4 Users: 8,000,000 shared credits/month
Team 5 Users: 10,000,000 shared credits/month
And so on.
Credits are shared across all team members, with no individual usage limits. Any member can use the available credits, meaning a single member could consume the team's entire monthly allowance.
Legacy Plans
Some existing subscribers may be on legacy plans, which have different credit allowances from current plans. You can continue renewing your legacy plan at your existing rate and limits. However, once cancelled, a legacy plan cannot be restored, and these plans are no longer available to new subscribers.
The legacy plans are Single, Team, and Small Business. All three include 6,000,000 credits per user per month.
Unlike current Team plans, which have a shared credit pool, legacy Team plans provide each member with their own individual monthly allowance of 6,000,000 credits. Credits are not shared between members.
For example, on a legacy Team plan with 3 users, each member receives 6,000,000 credits per month, rather than sharing a combined allowance.

Voice Models and Credit Costs
NaturalReader AI Voice Generator offers a variety of AI voice models powered by different speech technologies and providers. Each voice model has its own credit cost per character, supported languages, and available voice customization features.
Gemini Voices
Models: Gemini 2.5, Gemini 3.1, Gemini 3.8
Credit cost: 1-2 credits/character
Using Google's Gemini speech technology, these voices produce fluid, expressive context-aware speech with dynamic and varied intonation, pacing, and vocal delivery. Newer models offer progressively improved speech quality, realism, and performance. They support Voice Customization through Speech Prompts and Voice Design, with additional support for and Inline Voice Tags in Gemini 3.1. These features allow customization of tone, emotion, delivery, and pacing.
Updated and expanded Voice Customization for the Gemini 3.8 model is coming soon.
11Labs LLM Voices
Models: Turbo 2.5, HD 2.5 (Stable), HD 3.0 (Preview)
Credit cost: 10-20 credits/character
ElevenLabs' speech technology delivers natural, realistic speech trained on thousands of professional licensed voiceovers. Choose between the Turbo model, optimized for speech and low latency at a lower credit cost, and the HD models, which prioritize audio quality at a higher credit cost. Voice Customization prompts are not supported.
OpenAI ChatGPT Voices
Credit cost: 1 credit/character
OpenAI speech technology generates natural-sounding, expressing speech with realistic vocal delivery. Supports Voice Customization through Speech Prompts and Voice Design.
Azure AI Voices
Credit cost: 1 credit/character
Microsoft Azure's neural speech technology produces lifelike speech with smooth pacing and balanced intonation. These voices offer measured, even delivery without the more dynamic variation associated with newer generative models. Voice Customization is not supported.
Google Chirp HD Voices – Stable
Credit cost: 1 credit/character
An earlier generation of Google's neural AI voices, these voices deliver clear, natural speech with a consistent speaking style. Less expressive than newer generative models, they provide a straightforward listening experience. Voice Customization is not supported.
Legacy Voices (deprecated)
Credit cost: 1-20 credits/character
Includes older voices from earlier versions of AI Voice Generator, as well as deprecated or discontinued voices from various providers. These voices remain available for use but may be removed at any time.
Cloned Voices
Credit Cost: 10-20 credits/character
Create your own custom AI voice by recording audio or uploading a recording. Toggle its Turbo mode on or off to balance generation speech, audio quality, and credit usage.
Supported Languages
NaturalReader AI Voice Generator supports a wide range of languages across its available voices and voice models. Most voices support multiple languages, although multilingual capabilities vary by voice and model. Some legacy voices may support only one language.
Using Automatic Language Detection
Most voices can automatically detect the language of your text without requiring you to select that language manually.
To use automatic language detection:
Set the language to English (US).
Select your preferred voice.
Enter your text in the language you want to generate.
The voice will attempt to detect and generate speech in the appropriate language, provided that language is supported.
Important notes:
There is no separate multilingual language setting. Supported languages are not limited to those displayed in the language selection menu.
Not every voice supports every language or regional accent offered by its provider.
When using automatic language detection, regional accents cannot be selected manually. The voice will use its preset accent for the detected language.
Language detection and pronunciation accuracy may vary depending on the voice and language.
