Free Features:
The following features are included for all users, both free and paid. Some free features may require login to access or upgrading to a subscription for more access.
Free Voices
Any available Free Voice may be used unlimited by all users. What Free Voices or languages that are available will depend on your device, operating system, and browser. Subscribe for more voice options.
Premium Voices
Premium Voices may be sampled by free users for up to 20,000 characters per day. That's about 20 minutes using an average reading speed. Subscribe for unlimited listening.
Plus Voices
Plus Voices may be sampled by free users for up to 4000 characters per day. That's about 5 minutes using as average reading speed. Plus Voices include Multi-Lingual and LLM voice types. LLM is a type of AI where the voices have context awareness. This gives you the best emulation of human speech available today. LLM Voices also include Cloned Voices. Each character consumed by LLM Voices are counted as 2 characters towards the TTS limits. Learn more limits here.
Speed Settings
Change the reading speed from minimum 50 wpm to the maximum 900 wpm.
Text Highlight
Text is highlighted as it's read aloud. Word-by-word highlighting is enabled by default.
Click-to-Play
After pressing play, click on any text to being reading from there
Autoscroll
The app will automatically scroll down the page as the reading advances
Return to Text
If you scroll away from the text currently being read, select Return to Text to return to the current reading
Resume Reading
Documents opened from your Library will resume where you last left off reading.
Hotkeys
For desktop use only. Use preset hotkeys to skip text, play previous text, or pause/play.
Library
Requires login to access. While logged in, your document uploads are saved to your account Library, allowing you to resume reading later or after changing devices. Library contents may be exported to PDF. Library documents are saved for a maximum of 1 year.
Shared Library (EDU only)
Requires login to access. The Shared Library is optional and may be managed by the EDU plan owner or admins only. The Shared Library allows you to share documents to users on your EDU plan.
Save Text
Edit and save typed-in text or non-PDF files as a PDF file to your Library.
Pronunciation Editor
Requires login to access. Use substitution to correct, modify, or replace specific words, phrases, or acronyms.
Filter Settings - Skip Text
Requirers login to access. Skip text in round brackets (), square brackets [], or curly brackets {}, or URLs. Also skips On by default. For uploaded documents only, you can also skip superscripts, subscripts, and vertical text. Subscribe for more filter options.
Annotations
Requires login to access. Add highlights to your text and optionally add notes to those highlights. Highlights and notes may be exported in a text file.
Table of Contents
Open the Table of Contents to quickly and easily navigate within your document.
Bookmarks
Add bookmarks to a document to navigate to specific pages in a file.
Closed Captions
Follow along the reading using the CC's enlarged text, recommended if you are having a hard time reading from smaller text. While on mobile, the CC is accessible from the Text View settings.
Text View (mobile only)
Toggle Text View to more easily read text from your smaller mobile or tablet device screen. Text View extracts the raw text from your uploaded document, allowing you to increase the font size, text spacing, or toggle the Dyslexia Font.
Font Settings
Adjust the text size, text spacing, or toggle Dyslexia Font for typed-in text. While using the mobile app, use Text View to access these settings for document uploads.
Search & Replace
For typed-in text only. Search a character string in the text and replace it with another character string.
Sleep Timer
Set a timer for when to stop the reading.
Dark Mode
Enable dark mode to modify the interface display theme and your PDFs will automatically adjust with inverted colours. This allows even allows the white of your document to turn dark.
Share
Generate a share link to send your document or text to others to listen to in the app.

Premium Voices
Unlimited listening with Premium Voices is included with Plus, Premium EDU, and Plus EDU subscription plans. Learn more about supported languages for Premium Voices here.
Plus Voices
Plus Voices are accessible with Plus or Plus EDU subscriptions and allows 500,000 characters per user per day for in-app listening. Plus Voices include Multi-Lingual and LLM voice types. Convert to mp3
Convert text to downloadable audio mp3 files for up to 1 million characters per user per month. Keep in mind that Premium and Plus voices are licensed for personal use only.
Multi-page documents can be converted to mp3 for up to 50,000 characters at a time or 20 pages at a time (whichever comes first).
Each character consumed by LLM Voices are counted as 2 characters towards the TTS limits. Learn more limits here.
OCR
Convert image-based files like pictures, screenshots, and scanned documents into a readable document format using Optical Character Recognition technology.
Multi-page documents requiring OCR can be converted for up to 50 pages at a time only.
Filter Settings - AI Filter & Margins
The AI Filter automatically skips unwanted text like page numbers, tables, and graphs. Use the Margin settings to manually set reading margins to exclude or include text to be read on the page.
AskAI
Powered by ChatGPT, AskAI is your personal AI assistant. You can use it to summarize your documents or ask questions about the text. For EDU subscribers, EDU Owners can disable user access to AskAI from the EDU Management settings.
